When Cultures Meet  When Cultures Meet addresses the pitfalls and the productive possibilities when differing cultures come together.
The meeting of cultures comes in many forms, such as

    •       When two organizations merge

    •       When an organization from one culture brings its operations to a different culture

    •       When two units in an organization need to interact more effectively in order to achieve a desired outcome

    •       When increasingly diverse populations enter the workplace

This meeting of cultures inevitably disrupts the status quo.  Feelings and reactions are generated on all sides that regularly heighten interpersonal tensions and diminish overall organizational effectiveness.

SPEAKER: Marsha Wesley Coleman  Marsha is the Director of Leadership Development and Training for Friends Services for the Aging. (FSA)  In this role Marsha designs educational programs for employees in FSA member organizations and works with leadership teams to assess and diagnose issues impacting organizational performance and designing aligned strategies to improve performance at individual, group and organizational system levels.

Marsha has over 18 years experience in executing marketing programs at companies including KPMG and Black Entertainment Television (BET). Marsha also has a passion for mentoring and was the administrator for the L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program for the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), a non-profit trade organization focusing on diversity. In this role, she matched NAMIC members with Senior Level Executives for a nine-month formal mentoring program.
