    When it comes to a high visibility assignment or promotion, what are people saying about you when you’re not in the room? Mary Ann will present ways to gain answers to that question and to reshape negative buzz and create a plan for altering negative perceptions of you or your HR department.  Proactive reputation management is a foundational skill for Savvy HR Professionals and forms the basis for building effective relationships.

    Speaker: Mary Ann Kmetyk, a Principal and founding partner in Applied Performance Strategies, Inc.

    Applied Performance Strategies is a veteran owned, Maryland based consulting firm providing customized technical and employee development training since 1995.  Mary Ann provides training and consulting services in the areas of leadership development, performance management, personal skills development, and effective human resource practices. Her clients span a wide range of industries including engineering and technology, education, federal agencies, health care, manufacturing and non-profits.  She is an adjunct faculty member of Howard Community College and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Howard County Human Resources Society.  Mary Ann’s previous positions include Director of Human Resources for GPS Technologies, Manager of Human Resources for Sweetheart Cup Corporation, Employee Relations Manager for The Ward Machinery Company and Service Center Supervisor, Bell of Pennsylvania. Mary Ann holds an M.S. in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science granted by Chatham College.
