    This interactive session with exercises for practice will present the HR business case for increasing Mindful awareness and will demonstrate the HR and corporate benefits for increasing mindfulness.   Attention is crucial in business today due to rapidly changing technology and the complex mental processes required to manage multiple streams of information in a global, diverse economy. With HR’s role expanding  to a business partner working collaboratively with corporate senior leadership, the skills of Mindful Leadership are invaluable. HR professionals who are attuned to themselves and to other leaders and employees see opportunities for collaboration with their executive teams to create people strategies that deliver on engagement, performance, development, retention, and change management. In particular, Mindful leadership principles can help strengthen the HR professional’s accuracy, service, and responsiveness in hearing the needs of the entire organization.

    This program will teach basic principles of Mindful Leadership and will introduce Mindfulness Meditation as a skill set.    Participants will walk away with simple techniques to practice and apply Mindfulness at work and will have resources for further learning.  In addition, suggestions will be given to initiate a Mindfulness program in member’s companies to enhance performance, reduce stress, reduce health care costs and promote innovation

    Speaker: Marjorie Johnson, LCSW, PCC, President of Ascend Consulting is an executive and career coach and is immediate Past President of the International Coach Federation‘s Philadelphia chapter.  She has over 25 years helping professional and companies to increase effectiveness and manage change.  She has trained and coached for many organizations including healthcare, education, government and non profits.  Marjorie specializes in improving performance through communication, leadership and work-life balance.
