    We are excited to have Randy Schauer, Partner, Fox Rothschild LLP as our first presenter this year.  Randy will be focusing on Employee Handbooks and some new developments regarding them.  Randy's practice focuses on all aspects of labor relations and employment law. He handles the full spectrum of the employment relationship from pre-hire procedures to post-termination closure, including unemployment compensation and statutory compliance issues such as Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA and OSHA compliance. Randy negotiates, drafts, and enforces contracts protecting client's rights in all aspects of the employment relationship, including employment and separation, confidentiality and non-competition, intellectual property protection, and independent contractor arrangements.

    Randy is a frequent speaker and writer for human resource and legal professionals on all aspects of the employment relationship including procedures, training, and legal compliance issues.

    This meeting is sponsored by Villanova University.  Villanova University, in partnership with Chester County Human Resources Association, and in celebration of their recent recognition for the third year in a row as the #1 College/University SHRM program in the country, is pleased to announce the fall 2011 schedule for the SHRM Learning System® for PHR/SPHR Certification. 

    Villanova/SHRM Learning System classes begin the week of September 12. Classes are held at Chester County Economic Development Council, Eagleview Corporate Center in Exton beginning Monday, September 12, as well as at Villanova University on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and alternate Saturdays, and 8 other locations in the Delaware Valley. The class is held for 13 weeks and prepares students to take the PHR/SPHR exam in December 2011/January 2012. Villanova University’s pass rate regularly exceeds the national pass rate; classes are led by experienced, SPHR-certified HR professionals and are a great opportunity for professional development and networking. REMINDER: This is the last class to prepare students for testing under the current Body of Knowledge.

    A course investment of $1,315 for SHRM members and $1,350 for non-SHRM members includes all course materials, access to the online Resources Center and mastery tests. (Saturday students’ investment is $1,635 for members and $1,670 for non-members, and includes meals.) Students who need only re-certification credits can receive 36 recertification credits for taking the course.

    The fall 2011GPHR Learning System® will be held at Villanova University on alternate Saturdays beginning October 1, 2011. The class is held over five alternate Saturdays (only 5 classes!) and prepares students to take the GPHR exam in December 2011. The GPHR Learning System is designed with the HR Professional who works for a company who is international in scope or manages HR with international responsibility. There is increased demand for HR professionals who have this certification. The course investment is $1,500 for SHRM members and $1,550 for non-SHRM members. Breakfast and Lunch is provided for the GPHR sessions. This course will not be offered in the spring of 2012.
